FIRST NIGHT® is putting together plans to bring the area’s best emerging artistic and entertainment talents to the stages and dance floors of Maplewood and South Orange, for an unforgettable evening of cultural entertainment.
Come share the experience. It will be inspiring, diverse, energizing and fun.
Bring your family. Bring your friends. Bring yourself. The music, dance and theater will span a range of tastes—from traditional to innovative, from sweet to bold. The event will also be alcohol-free and include circus acts, artistic activities, and amusements for the young—and young at heart.
Plan now to make FIRST NIGHT 2014 the first night of your new year.

Performers
Want to suggest performers or a type of entertainment for the event? Send an e-mail to info@firstnightmwso.org . Some of the music and dance genres under consideration are Pop, Hip hop, R&B, Soul, Blues, Jazz, Latin, Caribbean, World, Classical, Classic Rock, Contemporary Rock, Country, Folk, Ballet, Jazz Dance, and Modern Dance. Entertainment that integrates different styles is welcome. Young bands that are ready to compete head-to-head for a chance to perform are also welcome to apply.

Think your organization should consider sponsoring FIRST NIGHT 2014? Event-wide and event-specific sponsorship opportunities are available. Wish to make a donation? Want to help make FIRST NIGHT an outstanding event for the community and region? Because FIRST NIGHT Maplewood and South Orange is an all-volunteer organization, it welcomes your involvement. Currently, we are looking for volunteers with skills in event planning, marketing communications, sponsorship sales, grant development, performing arts, contract negotiation, graphic arts, stage lighting/sound, publicity, or social media.
